Award-Winning Engineering and Design Firm Ysrael A. Seinuk, P.C. Continues Building a Foundation of Satisfied Clients with Avaya IP Telephony
Company’s Staff Now Has Flexibility, Mobility to Meet Tight Deadlines Using IP Telephony Installation Designed by Award-Winning Avaya BusinessPartner, Consolidated Technologies
When the noted New York City-based structural engineering firm Ysrael A. Seinuk, P.C. (YAS) decided to upgrade its communications system to link offices in New York and New Jersey, the company turned to an IP telephony solution from Avaya Inc. (NYSE: AV – News), a global leader in business communications applications, systems and services.
The new network is helping the company — which built such projects as The Trump World Tower in New York City and the Miami Performing Arts Center — significantly reduce operating costs and improve employee collaboration. It also allows employees to keep in touch with each other and clients when away from the office on engineering projects.
Engineers from YAS have worked on some of Manhattan’s largest and best-known buildings — from Philip Johnson’s distinctive “Lipstick Building” to the new Hearst Tower now under construction. The company pioneered the use of stronger concrete for high-rises, which allows architects to design taller structures without having to make them wider.
The Business Challenge
YAS looked for the same kind of innovation in a new communications network to support its business. The company enlisted the help of Consolidated Technologies Inc. (CTI), an award-winning Avaya BusinessPartner headquartered in Westchester, N.Y. The solution CTI designed for YAS is based on Avaya IP Office, a flexible, secure and easy-to-use converged voice and data system designed especially for small and medium businesses.
Ysrael A. Seinuk, founder of YAS who was recently named one of Time Magazine’s Most Influential Hispanics in America, found Avaya IP Office to be the perfect solution for his fast-paced organization.
“My company has a reputation for engineering complex projects on time and within budget,” Seinuk said. “The Avaya IP Office solution gives my staff the flexibility and mobility they need to meet tight deadlines, allowing us to provide our clients with efficient and economical structural solutions. Voice and data infrastructure are key elements in providing world class customer service.”
With the Avaya solution in place, YAS has reduced telecommunication charges by routing calls between the company’s offices over its own data network. Each employee is just a four-digit extension away, and calls can be seamlessly transferred from site to site. The company also has a single, centralized voicemail system so customer messages can be easily forwarded to a colleague at another location.
A built-in IP Office conferencing function has improved staff efficiency and collaboration, while eliminating the need for costly outside conferencing services. Employees can set up a multiparty conference on the fly or schedule one in advance. No special equipment is required.
An Avaya IP Softphone application allows engineers to use their laptops or PCs to make and receive calls over the network, which is a cost-saving convenience when traveling or working from home.
